Griffintown is one of the oldest neighborhoods (historically it is predominantly Irish working class) in Montreal (directly South of downtown by the canal), and was scheduled for redevelopment when I lived there. I lived in Montreal for 6 years: 2002-2007. During my time there I spent many evenings (and mornings, and afternoons) biking through Griffintown (along the canal), looking at all the old buildings in disrepair. One night in Wondong (here in South Korea) the color of the sky and the shape of the clouds sent my mind tumbling back to Griffintown. The song "Griffintown" was finished in South Korea in late summer 2009 the night my mind went tumbling back. The postcard for Griffintown contains images from Wondong, and Griffintown. It is almost impossible for me to tell them apart (even though I know they are from opposite sides of the world).
